This year saw the 5th iteration of TEP (Transatlantic Entrepreneurship Conference) held during International Week, organized by the NY Intl team. Both conferences have evolved over the years and based on our learnings this year, we have some exciting plans for 2016 – more to come in January’s newsletter. This year we doubled the numbers: With 150 attendees on Tuesday, 260 on Thursday, 60 speakers, 38 panelists, and five roundtable hosts, the participants made this the best and biggest transatlantic conference ever. What’s even more rewarding than organizing a successful conference is seeing some tangible outcomes for the attendees. Here are some of the outcomes following the 2015 conference;

  • Panono, the Berlin-based 360 degree camera, has entered into a distribution agreement with a NYC-based specialized electronics retailer. Panono was part of the 2015 TEP delegation.
  • ADPS, a New York-based B-corp providing specialized education solution, added a German investor to its funder base; they met at the 2015 TEP.
  • Resmio, the Berlin-based restaurant reservation startup, is in talks for strategic funding from a global retailer; they met at the 2015 TEP. Resmio has also a MasterCard StartPath finalist presenting in London in November 2015. MasterCard had presented their program at TEP 2015
  • Videopath, the Berlin-based video smart content startup, entered into discussion with several US investors and will spend time in NYC starting January 2016. Videopath was part of the 2015 TEP delegation

This year’s theme was ‘Traction’ and we will continue with this relevant theme for 2016 with a series of new ‘Traction’ events planned such as SX/Traction, a one day workshop and networking event for international startups attending SXSW including investor insights & industry updates.Another element we’re adding are World Innovation tours to Europe and Asia. In a combined trip, the Asian tour will introduce U.S. and international startups/corporates to the innovative markets of Tokyo, Seoul, Taipei and Hong Kong to facilitate collaboration and establish strategic partnerships. The European tour will follow a similar format.  We are currently discussing our 2016 plans with our international partners. If you would like to be involved in any capacity, we would love to hear your thoughts, please get in touch.
